“My purpose as a trainer is to help others experience the vitality
and inspiration that exercise can provide. I learned this firsthand in my
late thirties when I gradually began to increase my own activity level.
On a whim, I hired a personal trainer and fully discovered my love of movement.
As my strength and flexibility increased, so did the sheer joy of being
active, of being alive. Because I went through my own transformation with
exercise, I know how it feels to want to make a change and I want to support
those who have the desire.
Drawing on my knowledge of fitness as well as my extensive background in
education, I strive to design workouts that are creative and fresh while
incorporating movement that is appropriate to my clients’ abilities.
Progressing at a safe and consistent rate, I like to focus on building a
strong and stable core, and from there develop functional fitness that allows
my clients to do the things they most love to do whether it be gardening
or competing in a triathlon. I believe in combining exercise and nature
whenever possible for the benefit it brings to the mind and spirit as well
as the body.
In particular, I love to work with women who are new exercisers,
returning to an active lifestyle, or looking to take their current fitness to a higher level. I
get a huge charge from things like teaching a non-swimmer how to swim, or helping someone develop muscles they
never knew they had, or training women who are ready for new challenges such as a longer
triathlon or perhaps a climb up Kilimanjaro!
I hope that through exercise, my clients discover a New Outlook on their
fitness and can experience it as an indispensable component to a life time of physical health and well-being.”
